Welcome back to Golf Thursday, and Happy New Year!
Here’s a brief look at each tournament of the 2025 season.
Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (Jan. 30–Feb. 2, Orlando Fla.)
Defending champion: Lydia Ko
Founders Cup (Feb. 6–9, Bradenton Fla.)
Defending champion: Rose Zhang
Notables: Bradenton is Nelly Korda’s hometown, so a win for her here would be extra special.
Honda LPGA Thailand (Feb. 20–23, Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand)
Defending champion: Patty Tavatanakit
Notables: Tavatanakit was the local favorite last year, so her and fellow compatriot Jeeno Thitikul will both be wanting to win over the home crowd.
HSBC Women’s World Championship (Feb. 27–March 2, Singapore)
Defending champion: Hannah Green
Blue Bay LPGA (March 6–9, Hainan, People’s Republic of China)
Defending champion: Bailey Tardy
FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship (March 20–23, Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.)
Defending champion: Nelly Korda
Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass (March 27–30, Phoenix, Ariz.)
Defending champion: Nelly Korda
T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards (April 2–6, North Las Vegas, Nev.)
Defending champion: Nelly Korda
JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro (April 17–20, Tarzana, Calif.)
Defending champion: Hannah Green
The Chevron Championship (April 24–27, The Woodlands, Texas)
Defending champion: Nelly Korda
Notables: The first major championship of the season presents players with a $7.9 million prize purse and a prestigious golf course. Keep an eye on Lilia Vu, who, after a quiet season this year, may look to bounce back by winning her second Chevron Championship.
Black Desert Championship (May 1–4, Ivins, Utah)
Notables: The Black Desert Championship is a new event this year on the LPGA Tour, hosted at Black Desert Resort’s signature course.
Mizuho Americas Open (May 8–11, Jersey City, N.J.)
Defending champion: Nelly Korda
Mayakoba Open (May 22–25, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico)
Noteables: Another new event this season, the LPGA travels to Mexico for the first time since 2017.
U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally (May 29–June 1, Erin, Wis.)
Defending champion: Yuka Saso
Noteables: A $12 million prize purse looms over the players in the field at Erin Hills. I think pushes from qualifying amateur players is something we should always keep an eye on. Minjee Lee might look to avenge her final round woes from last year.
ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer (June 6–8, Galloway, N.J.)
Defending champion: Linnea Strom
Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give (June 12–15, Belmont, Mich.)
Defending champion: Lilia Vu

KPMG Women’s PGA Championship (June 19–22, Frisco, Texas)
Defending champion: Amy Yang
Notables: This is the first time the LPGA Tour will visit the home of the PGA of America. Players will compete for a share of the $10.4 million purse and a major championship title on PGA Frisco’s Fields Ranch East.
Dow Championship (June 26–29, Midland, Mich.)
Defending champions: Ruoning Yin and Jeeno Thitikul
Notables: I love this tournament because it’s one of the few times a season that LPGA athletes get to team up and compete together. Their walkout songs, team names and energy on the course are so much fun to watch. When professional athletes and best friends team up, there are bound to be some low scores.
The Amundi Evian Championship (July 10–13, Evian-les-Bains, France)
Defending champion: Ayaka Furue
Notables: The fourth of five major championships kicks off the LPGA’s European summer swing. Ayaka Furue will look to defend her well-deserved title, but Celine Boutier will surely want to win in her home country.
ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open (July 24–27, Gailes, Ayrshire, Scotland)
Defending champion: Lauren Coughlin
Notables: Lauren Coughlin loves Scotland links golf, but so does everyone. Look out for a tight finish at this one. Dundonald is always a challenge but always a treat.
AIG Women’s Open (July 31–Aug. 3, Porthcawl, Mid Glamorgan, Wales)
Defending champion: Lydia Ko
The Standard Portland Classic (Aug. 14–17, Portland, Ore.)
Defending champion: Moriya Jutanugarn
CPKC Women’s Open (Aug. 21–24, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada)
Defending champion: Lauren Coughlin
FM Championship (Aug. 28–31, Norton, Mass.)
Defending champion: Haeran Ryu
Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G (Sept. 11–14, Maineville, Ohio)
Defending champion: Lydia Ko
Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G (Sept. 19–21, Rogers, Ark.)
Defending champion: Jasmine Suwannapura
LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei (Oct. 1–4, Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawai’i)
Defending champion: A Lim Kim
Buick LPGA Shanghai (Oct. 9–12, Minhang District, Shanghai, People’s Republic of China)
Defending champion: Ruoning Yin
Notables: This is the first tournament in the LPGA Tour season’s annual Asian swing. Ruoning Yin is notably good in her home country, and she’ll want to defend her name and title again this year.
BMW Ladies Championship (Oct. 16–19, Republic of Korea)
Defending champion: Hannah Green
Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown (Oct. 23–26, Goyand, Republic of Korea)
Defending champions: Team Thailand
Notables: The International Crown is played every two years. Last event, in 2023 at TPC Harding Park, the stacked Thai team of Ariya Jutanugarn, Moriya Jutanugarn, Patty Tavatanakit and Jeeno Thitikul took home the coveted Crown. Eight total teams of four players each will seek to capture the title this year at New Korea Country Club.
Maybank Championship (Oct. 30–Nov. 2, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Defending champion: Ruoning Yin
TOTO Japan Classic (Nov. 6–9, Otsu-shi, Shiga, Japan)
Defending champion: Rio Takeda
The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican (Nov. 13–16, Belleair, Fla.)
Defending champion: Nelly Korda
Notables: The Pro-Am at last year’s ANNIKA was star-studded for sure. I’m excited to see if Caitlin Clark returns to play again and how good her game will have gotten if she does.
CME Group Tour Championship (Nov. 20–23, Naples, Fla.)
Defending champion: Jeeno Thitikul
Notables: The tournament with the largest non-major championship prize purse returns to Tiburón in 2025. It’s anyone’s tournament when it comes down to the season finale, but I’m sure Nelly Korda would love to win this one for the first time in her career.
Grant Thornton Invitational (Dec. 12–14, Naples, Fla.)
Defending champions: Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp
We have so much to look forward to in 2025, especially with the anticipated arrival of a new LPGA Commissioner. The Tour has gone through a lot of changes but with these changes come growth. The game is growing, and I’m ready for what 2025 is going to bring.
