Jordan Chiles takes her bronze medal case to the next level — Watch out for Chelsea Werner

Jordan Chiles hired the law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher to take her appeal of the Court of Arbitration of Sport ruling that stripped her of her Olympic bronze medal to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland. 

Yeah she did. 

The case (it’s in German; use Google Translate) argues, in essence, that Chiles was denied due process — that she was not given the opportunity to object, nor to put together a defense. Video evidence was rejected, her appeal alleges, that showed that Cecile Landi’s inquiry on Chiles’ routine was registered in time (the main argument in the CAS case against Chiles was that the inquiry was filed four seconds too late); ergo, Chiles was unable to have her side told.

Here’s to hoping Jordan’s voice gets heard. I’m glad she has continued to push the case forward, and I’m glad USAG is supporting her efforts even though Chiles has hired her own representation.
